We’re the Thorpe’s! We’re a family owned and operated Small business. Our family is our life! Basketball is our passion! We’re bringing our passion to help others who want to learn the game of basketball.

With all 3 of our children playing the game, we want to create a place children can start young, grow and enhance their skills over time.

We believe in creating a safe, clean and encouraging environment for youth to learn and enhance their skills.

Mustapha Thorpe

Mustapha developed a love for basketball at a young age. Being the youngest of 3 children he was introduced to sports at a very young age. However, due to his age he sat on the side lines watching his older siblings. The anguish of waiting fueled his desire! When he finally received the opportunity to play, his interest was already strong and he flourished. Being apart of a basketball league not only gave him a place to belong but allowed him to focus his energy and sharpen his talents. Mustapha went on to be an All-State basketball player. He now uses his experience to help others find their place on the court and focus their energy.

Acquanita Thorpe

Acquanita has a background in Business and has worked for Corporate America for over 20 years. She’s now taking the knowledge and skills learned over many years and investing in the love and passion of her Family’s Business. She uses her structured finance and business background to ensure Hooper’s Clinic is organized and runs smoothly. With her husband’s love of the game as well as all 3 of her children playing basketball, she found a way to utilize her skills to help build a Program for not only her children but other children who love basketball as well.

Yazmyne Thorpe

Yazmyne’s introduction to basketball began in the 7th grade. She played her sophomore to senior years on the Varsity Team at Farmington High School. She also played AAU. Yazmyne graduated in 2023 and received a full athletic and academic scholarship to further her basketball career with Madonna University. With her love and dedication to the game she brings a wealth of creativity and energy to the youth of our Program. She’s personable and loves to teach other children what she’s learned thus far. Her energetic disposition, bubbly personality and creativity helps to bring life to Hooper’s Clinic.
